The Mathematical Society of Chile

The Mathematical Society of Chile is older than the date of 1982 which we have given. It certainly existed during the 1970s but it was only formally registered in 1982. It has played a major role in promoting the development of the mathematical sciences in Chile, both at a research level and at the level of secondary schools.
